MLB 2008 rosters in OOTP 09
I just read on the main board that one of the new features of OOTP 09 is MLB 2008 rosters. Just curious how this works.
I was under the impression that all games that used the Lahman database were stuck with a roster that existed at the end of the last full year (i.e. 2007). So is it normal for OOTP games to have up to date rosters built in as oppsed to having to load a after market mod (e.g. Cubby Fan's Rosters) Obviously, if I could get the game with current MLB rosters, I would definitely buy it since all the created players, stats, etc would be "officially" from the game developer. |

An MLB license isn't required- MLB lost that lawsuit.

Even with that, doesn't that mean someone will still have to take the Lahman Database and physically make all the moves that occured between the end of the last season and whenever the game is released? Or is there another way to do it I am unaware of?

You don't need to start with Lahman; you can enter all players by hand. It takes a long time, but fortunately, OOTP developers will be doing the work.
