ootp 8 (mac) problem

A few questions.

I just got a Mac awhile back and had bought a few previous ootp's on PC and decided to give the new one a try on the mac when it came out.

I've encountered some problems however on the demo....

The program seems to crash all the time unexpectedly or encounters problems that prevent you from finishing what you are doing. It differs on different modes(historic always after 1st world series), Fictional/standard( either gets an error with roster or at dec 1 of the 1st year simmed it stops and won't let you go past it.

Now I havn't purchased the game yet and that might be the problem in itself but for some reason the first few days I used the demo I was sim'ing multiple seasons without crash. I did have the problem where it kept saying I had a player that was designated for assignment and no one was there and it would not let me get past it. I even went the route of removing myself as owner hoping that the computer would find the problem and correct it(which it would) but even if i sim'd 10 years and then took over ownership of the team it would immediatly start saying that I had a player designated for assignment.

Now I guess you can see my reluctance to purchase the game.

So now my main questions...

1. Will purchasing the game make all the problems go away?

2. Are these known problems for mac and just waiting for the patch?

any suggestions or help would of course be appreciated.

p.s. going to post this in tech support forum as well...just figured more people would see it in this forum.

I purchased the mac version of ootp8 recently...I have already stopped playing it due to numerous problems...it's just terribly unstable/buggy
