OOTP 8 question

I have 2007 and I converted a 6.5 season that I had CATO'd every year until 2006. Would I need to "upgrade" to OOTP8 to "continue" CATOing my seasons or is there a way to do it in 2007?

Also, if I have to upgrade to OOTP8 to continue my CATO, would it pull in the one season that I played in version 2007 as well as all of my 6.5 data?

Thanks in advance.

OOTP 2007 will record a Cato-like history going forward, but can't import the history generated from the 6.5 league by Cato - you must use OOTP8 to import your pre-existing Cato history into your converted league. However, once you've imported the Cato history, you can use the league in 2007 or OOTP8, as the league files are 100% compatible with each other.

You are allowed to use the OOTP8 demo for this, if you so desire.

Hope that's clear enough.

So the best thing probably to do would be to import everything into OOTP8(demo version) from 6.5, then replay that one season using OOTP2007 to have all of the stats in the new CATO. Then would I need to upgrade to OOTP8 to continue forward or could I continue to use OOTP2007 and just use the OOTP8 demo for CATOing a season?

You should be able to use 2007 going forward once you use 8 demo to cato your 6.5 into that league. 8 and 2007 are completly compatable and almost the same game. once you have your 6.5 converted into 8 you should be good using 2007 from then out.

So OOTP 8 doesn't actually "have" a CATO, just the abilty to import all of your CATO "stuff" from OOTP 6.5. Is this correct? From then on, I'd just have all of my historical stats in the OOTP 2007/8 "format" with my "history". I think I understand.

According to OOTP itself, OOTP MLB play (modern and historical) outnumbers OOTP fictional play three to one.

Five thousand thanks for a non-modder? I never thought I'd see the day. Thank you for your support.
