Hi,
My OOTP online league will convert from 6.5 to version 8 next season. I have more than 400 "real photos" in .bmp. Do I really have to edit each photo one by one in OOTP 8 or somebody have a better plan for me? Thanks!

Use irfanview to do a batch conversion to jpg. Takes about thrity seconds.

So I convert .bmp to .png with irfanview. But after that, I have to edit each photo name?

My memory is a little hazy, but if you have the photos named as the player name, then I don't believe you have to do this.

In OOTP 6, the name of the photo are a number like p2156.bmp for example. So it's a really boring task to rename all photos!!!

I had a method in OOTP6 where I would export the rosters and use Excel to generate lines for a batch file that would convert the file names as needed, but I guess it won't be necessary.

Here's an interesting factoid that may be relevant to the discussion. I discovered it when I was trying to figure out why I was getting an actual picture of a player rather than a face-gen image in an on-line league that I am in.
Players pics are in the image directory: ../saved_games/CDBL.lg/news/html/images. Most players are named like player_541.png. However, if you put another image in the same directory and name it after the player exactly by his league name (e.g., donald_trumpsky.jpg), the the next time OOTP is started for that league, the player named picture will override the normal picture. The name must be exact with the underscore between first and last. jpg images work for this. |
