When IS pre-season?

When I go to generate a new schedule, I am always told that you can only do this in pre-season. I have tried fall, winter, and spring, but the message is always there.

Anyone?

Section 21.1 of the manual. Its on page 398.

Basically preseason begins 30 days before spring training and lasts for 30 days. I think you get an email that preseason is starting.

In my defense, "pre-season" is hyphenated in the game message, so that is how I did my search in the manual.
