I'm not sure if there has been a thread on this already, I'll admit I was lazy and didn't check. If so, I am sorry.
I could have sworn, the rule for who gets the win as a pitcher (in the instance where you have the lead let's say 1st inning and never lose it) was the guy that pitches the 5th. Well, that didn't happen in my game. I had a rain delay and had to take my pitcher out after the 3rd. I was already up 5-0 or something like that. So I put in a short reliever for an inning (pitcher up next inning and I wanted to get the win to my all-star reliever) and he pitched the 4th no problem, put in my all-star reliever for the 5-7 innings and the guy that pitched the 4th got the win. He was pinch hit for in the 4th, so he wasn't even on the mound for a second of the 5th. |

CAN, in some instances be a "judgment" call. Doesn't happen often but at times.

Thanks
I should have done this in the first place, but it was easy to look up the rules online and you are right. The 5 inning rule is only for the starter.
Thanks Steve for the quick response |
