Harold Reynolds an idiot
What a moron. The Braves have been resting their players the last month or so, and they haven't been the Braves they were in June-mid September. So now, he jumps on the Giants bandwagon and says they will beat the Braves??? What a moron, the Braves won't give Bonds anything to hit, and once Smoltzie is in with a Braves lead it's money. The Baseball Tonight crew and all other baseball "experts", and I use that term very lightly, should remember the Braves won 101 games in the regular season and the Giants are a wildcard team. The Braves have three great starters going for them and the Giants don't is plain and simple. I wish that Baseball Tonight and all of ESPN would get off the Bonds, Schilling, and Johnson bandwagon. Oh well, the Braves will show them on the field...
Aside from my angry post, what are y'alls playoff predictions?

Keep in mind the Braves played tons of games against the weak NL East... and the Giants played the tough NL West teams. The clubs aren't as mismatched as you'd think.
That said I'm still picking the Braves. See this thread for the rest of the playoff predictions: http://www.400softwarestudios.com/bo...threadid=15377 |

You should apologize to the intelligent Braves fans at this board. Jimmy Carter would be ashamed of you.

I am hoping with all my might that the Giants go down in defeat! and despite what Jason Moyers has been spouting off about, I hope Bonds hits a buck fifty AGAIN!

Carplos,
I usually am not this angry and shouting off. But, I mean EVERYONE is dissing the Braves lately, with the weak NL east argument I'll just be glad when they slience the critics. I appologize for coming off as ridiculous as I did.

The Giants don't have the pitching to win in the playoffs.

The Braves aren't motivated enough to win. If SF starts strong, then the Braves are done.
Year after year, Atlanta loses to teams in the playoffs that they shouldn't. 1991- Minnesota 1992- Toronto 1993- Philadelphia 1996- New York after winning the first two in NY 1997- Florida 1998- San Diego 2000- St. Louis, folded in inning 1, game 1 The '99 Yankees and '01 DBacks were better teams. For some reason, they don't play well when it counts. If they win game 1, then my guess is that they'll beat the Giants. But if twenty thousand empty seats Wednesday happens, Giants in 4. |

Ron,
This city is pretty pumped about the Braves, atleast I think so. I'm seeing street vendors again. BTW, that un,motivated comment shouldn't have been said. This is a whole new group of guys. You didn't need to post those records either believe me, I know. And I'll give you last year D-Backs team was better but that '99 squad was better than the '99 Yankees they just choked. The Braves are motivated this city is pretty pumped and I believe this is the year the Braves bring home another championship.

I like Harold too. He and McFarlane are my favorite BT guys. No one is right all the time.

There is no way that the Braves are going to win the World Series this year.

There is no one person on ESPN who I like, but Im spoiled with the Braves broadcast team of Sutton, Simpson, Van Weiren, and Carey. They are all very knowledgeable about the game, and a fun listen.

Dave Campbell is probably my favorite of ESPN Baseball Tonight’s analysts but Harold Reynolds ranks right up there. He has the smarts but not the voice to be a TV game analyst so a studio gig is the best thing for him. Peter Gammons (when he’s not signing Twenty dollar bills) can be great or annoying, depending on the subject. Too bad 90% of his predictions are complete hogwash. Tim Kurkjan and Rob Dibble on the other hand I can do without.
Bottom line is, there is no professional baseball analyst you are going to agree with 100% of the time. And because you don't agree with his assessment, it rarely immediately qualifies him as an "idiot"!

Well, I agree I said I was sorry for that earlier, but I have had a weekend of annoyinh Mets fans screaming about Smoltz, Maddux, Glavine, and Furcal being on roids, and I guess that just pushed me over the edge. He is one of the better guys and I shouldn't have said what I said. However, Rob Dibble as you stated a bit ago is someone I can do without...
