Looking at the schedule taking 3 outta the next 4 seems pretty big. Minny, Boston, St. Louis (even if they are struggling) Cleveland and LAAAAA is a pretty brtual stretch.

yeah, I was thinking that too.

Although, I like our schedule in the last month. I mean, you know you're gonna get the division games down the stretch, that's unavoidable, but only 1 series with Cleveland - and the out of division games of Oakland, Seattle, and Texas could be alot worse.

Lookin' good so far. Durbin tossin' a 2 hit shutout after 6, and the bats have lit up the scoreboard for 9.

Damn I wish we could play KC 162 times !!!

Nefi Perez hit a home run - I do believe that is a sign of the Apocalypse.

lol, did you see it ? Talk about a close one .

And, I think you are correct. It is somewhere in the middle of Revelation .... "I sayeth to you, Nefi will go deep into the fields of the city which named after a foreign territory, and the end will indeed be drawing near."

No one knew what it meant until today !

Zumaya's injury is a bummer. Does anyone know what the track record is on rehab for flame throwers with a ruptered tendon in a finger?

I don't like the sound of this at all.

Im not sure what to think about Zoom. He's our 7th innng man, which means he'll lose 40 innings or so because of this injury, which is a bummer of course.

However, 40 innings of Seay or Ledezma isn't a total loss either. I really like Ledezma for one, and Seay has pitched well this year and is a good LOOGY or short outing guy at this point.

One part of me wants to say this is a huge loss, the other part wants to say this is maybe two loss's (if that?) that we wouldn't otherwise have gotten. We all knew we would get an injury at some point (its just the way it happens) and our setup/closer spots are one of our best strengths.

I agree.

While Zoom-by-ya is one of my favorite Tigers; in all honesty he is just a middle relief pitcher. And, IMO, that's the most expendable of positions.

I just hope it all goes well with him, and he makes a full recovery ... as I do think his role will soon grow into our closer. I think he'll develope another pitch, and be a dominate one.

On TV - ESPN Sunday night....

Durbin has looked pretty good this year, but I think they are leaving him in just a bit too long.

And we do not even have the old man with the mystery oil on his hand back. I like the Tigers chances this year.

Welp, Bondos 1st inning woes continue - this is starting to concern me.

Infante came up huge in the start, 3-3 with 4 ribbies. Sheffield jacked one (his 5th) that turned out to be the game winner.

Zumaya watch ... Rodney pitches where Zooms woulda been - gives up a walk, single, wild pitch, and a 2 RBI single in the 8th.

-- I'd much rather see Mesa in that spot than Rodney at this point.

Didn't have a chance to watch the last couple days, as I was in the hospital with my wife. (my future Tiger was born !! - Jake, and he was a tiny fella). We got home today, and Jake and I watched our first game together. I think he was pretty excited about the big showdown with Johan Santana, as he was pumpin' his fists pretty hard when Sheff when deep in the first .

The Tigers looked good, made Johan throw a lot of pitches and took advantage of the Minny bullpen, with a 7-3 win tonight. Carlos went crazy with 3 hits (1B, 3B, & HR) and 4 Ribbies. Sheff had a couple singles and a HR; so the offense is still crackin.

Keep it up Tigers !!! Your newest fan was lovin' it !

Yea good game tonight. Johan wasn't sharp, but Maroth was (nice sinker tonight) and the Twinkies bullpen was pretty weak tonight.

Congrats Doug
