Perl scripts for Coranto prog
Anyone out there have a good source (or just a starting point) for configuring the look of the Coranto news program? I would like to add that to my league, and seem to have it cofigured properly, but what is being posted is pretty garbled. An example would be this, the second post:
CORANTO IS BUGGY!``xNOBLCommish``xLooks like we have some things to work out......``xEpFFkuEFpElfCATnZc``x1033230501``x(def ault) I assume I need to edit the "styles", but have no clue as to the commands to doing that. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance. noblcommish@nobl.net

It's hard to tell without seing it, but assuming everything has been set up properly, you need to create a news.shtml page in where you would insert the
PHP Code:
PHP Code:

Thanks for the quick reply Treches.
My original problem was that I had inserted newsdat.txt instead of news.txt in my HTML tag on the web page. Now that that is straightened out, everything is ok. Except... everything is boring. I'd like to know how to customize it some. I figure I'll learn by doing, but any shortcuts would be greatly appreciated. For example, I think I've seen some sites that have the headline in a separate colored background. That would be a nice touch. I assume that adding pictures, italics, etc is done during the posting and by using html lingo.

News.shtml operates as a regular html or htm file, thus you can work it as much as you want (background, tables, frames, nesting, etc.). Just place those tags wherever you want them to show up. The go to Admin/Edit Styles and insert the fields of your liking (name of the poster, date, poster's logo, etc.).
You can insert the headlines tag to show them on your league front page too.
