MLB.COM drives me crazy (ok, crazier)

I used the service last year and told myself a lie that I would never use it again.

When they lowered the price to 20 bucks for the premium, I went for it. While I was not happy with not getting the games on Saturday or Sunday that they sold to Fox or ESPN, plus the fact that I can't get Tampa games or Florida games, I went for it. Tampa is an hour drive and the Marlins is a good 4 hour drive. I usually go to one game a year in Tampa and would never drive down to that area to see a Marlin game. It also has been two years since I went to a Tampa game and I would only go for a Tiger game.

So, the streaming was a little bit better at 700K, but still not what I would call premium. The mosiac is cool stuff, seeing 6 games at once, but still in beta and it falls out of synch with video and audio sometimes.

Now the regular broadcast worked ok, but occasionally would just stop and I would have to reload it. It also would not connect sometimes in the 9th inning of a game. Once time it actually lagged out with 2 outs in the last of the ninth with 2 runners on base. By the time I got back on, the game was over. (Tigers did win)

Well, about 2 weeks ago, the audio went out on the regular broadcast. However, windows media player worked on ALL other sites. Just not MLB. However, I was able to use it through Mosiac, so I lived with the slow downs and snafus. Well, Monday Mosiac did an autoupdate and then after that, it gave me an error and would not load. Said my Direct X drivers were old. I said BS. So, I called tech support.

To my surprise, they came to the phone pretty quick. A very sexy sounding tech support lady came on. (I know, she weighed 350 pounds and had a light mustache that was visible with the proper lighting)

Anyhow, she stepped me through all of the trouble shooting in her list and did it quite well. But, it did not solve the problem. So, she took my phone number and said she elevated the ticket to a higher level tech. She also said in her sexy voice that they would call me within an hour. 4 hours later, no phone call.

So, the next morning, I dropped them a very noisy e-mail. Later in the day, they gave me a different telephone number to call. A tech answered and had me check a few things. He then had me download a program, run it and check a couple items in there. I then loaded the site and everything was solved. Mosiac problem was also solved by my dream girl's advice of uninstalling it and downloading and installing it again.

So, everything is working. But today, I am greeted with this message from Customer Service:

Here is the start of it, they also included screen shots of the step by step method of how to configure WMP 11:

We apologize for the inconvenience you have experienced with our Media. Please follow the following instructions for better Online Streaming.
Open the WMP and go to TOOLS then OPTIONS - blah blah blah

Then, under all the bright glossy screen shots, someone had typed this in:

JUST FYI< This is all wrong... you are missing some key things...

#1: Player tab... Download Codecs Automatically should be CHECKED

#2: Network Tab: Under Proxy Settings... HTTP needs to be NONE not Autodetect. They must click configure and "Do Not Use A Proxy Server"

#3: Performance Tab: Connection Speed... should be CHOOSE CONNECTION SPEED... to whatever is applicable per customers system. If these are not done correctly and in order... the reconfig will not work.It is the same configures as all the other WMP.. just different wording... If #2 isn't done.. it WILL NOT STREAM!

If you continue to have issues with your Online Streams Please fell free to call us at ....

Well, it works, so I did not do any of this, and I did not 'fell' like calling them again...
