I'm running ootp 2.0.1.43 on OS X.
I play as the manager [currently AA], and "quick play" each game. I use the 7 day roster format, and click "Paste LU vs. xHP" for every game after checking my lineup. About once every 5-10 games, my lineups and depth charts get reset to the AI defaults. Less frequently, perhaps every 20 games, my pitching rotation gets reset. This is driving me nuts -- I spend more time recreating my lineup [vs. left and vs. right], my depth charts, and my pitching lineups then I spend doing anything else. Is there a setting I'm missing? Is this a known bug? Is there a fix? Please help... I'm at the verge of no longer playing this game because of this behavior. |

It is a known bug, and obviously a frustrating one. I recall that it was 'claimed fixed' by the developers, but I don't remember if it was fixed in the current patch, or will be fixed in the next one. Hopefully someone can clarify. In any case, you haven't installed the newest patch, so that would be my first suggestion (2.02.53 is the latest version). Some Mac users (myself included) had a brief issue with this patch- after patching, starting OOTP would cause the screen to blink but the game wouldn't launch. In my case, it was because I didn't point the patch directly to the game (just to the drive) and all was fine on my second attempt, but others have needed to reinstall. If you have difficulty patching, search the forums for 'Mac patch issue' and you'll find several threads with solutions.

what will happen to my season? Will I lose my current season, or will it remain A-OK? I'm apprehensive to apply a patch that might fix the problem if it also might frag my season.
Can anyone reassure me? |

Your season should be absolutely fine. You could back up your league files before patching, just to be sure (that's never a bad idea), but there is no reason the patch should cause any problems. And, I expect in a few hours, someone will be able to tell you whether your issue was fixed in the most recent patch, or whether you'll need to wait for the upcoming final patch. You may also find some info through a forum search, if you haven't tried that already.

I'm running the latest patch on WinXP, and this is still happening to me. My manager options are set to have me in control of all major league options, and yet every time I sim a few days the AI completely rehauls my rosters, lineups, depth charts, etc.
Is there really no way to fix this??? Obviously if I can't control my lineups and rosters I really cant play/enjoy the game. |

Having trouble with patch...
I'm running into the same problem injury log was running in to. When I try to apply the patch, I can't apply it to the application. If I choose my HD, then applications, the only choices that are select-able are folders, not applications.
Where do I point the patch exactly so that it gets applied? |

bwd: The minor league manager issue was a bug in previous versions, and I assume that's the issue stomv has seen, especially since he hasn't patched. If this is happening in the current patch at the Major League level, check the following:
-first, in Manager menu --> Options, check that lineups and depthcharts are set to your control, and not Ai control. If that's all fine: -make sure you're not just 'Acting As' a team. It's easy to think you're the GM of a team when you're only 'Acting As' GM in Commissioner mode (it's certainly happened to me). If you have a drop-down menu in the top right that says 'Act As', this could well be the issue. You need to get hired. Do the following: --stay in Commissioner mode; --go to Manager menu --> Available Jobs; --apply for the job you want (they'll all be there, and you'll get the job immediately); --go to Manager menu --> Options and uncheck the 'Play in Commissioner mode' checkbox. Let us know if that solves the problem. Last edited by injury log; 08-18-2007 at 11:15 AM. |
