better/worse players

About to start new solo league, but want it based more on this year. What are the players who have much better or worse seasons then last year? I've got Derrek Lowe, Alfonsio Soriano, and to a lesser extent Mark Prior, and Shea Hillenbrand. Thanks.

If you're going to do that, you might as well change everybody's ratings, that's the problem...

For the Expos I can suggest Tomo Ohka and Brad Wilkerson. To a lesser extent, Masato Yoshii. I'm not sure how high Guerrero and Colon are rated in the roster set you're using, but double-check, just in case

Perhaps we can take this opportunity to enlighten other people about our hometown teams, and who's improved and who's declined.

As for my Pirates:

Improved: Josh Fogg, Kip Wells, Kris Benson, Mike Williams.
Declined: A. Ramirez, J. Kendall

Um...that's about it. This team blows and sucks at the same time, which is hard to do when you think about it.

Anyone else want to report for their teams?

I see point about roster changes, but not sure how to make roster set without it taking 3 years. If someone could tell me, I'd just use this years stats, if not this is best I can do. Thanks for the replies, I only plan on 3 or 4 players per team being changed so this is about right.

how about making some players slightly worse?

I have a couple:

Carlos Pena
J.D. Drew
Josh Beckett
Carlos E. Hernandez

I'm not sayin these players wont be great, or arent already. but Rolen was maybe a bit too generous with the Prospect hype.

The Tigers traded Pena for Jeff Weaver, so I am hoping that Pena will be awesome, but Rolens probably does jump the gun a bit.

Going with the home-town approach for the M's:

Better- Pineiro, Hasegawa
Worse- Cameron, Sierra, Boone, Garcia

Sierra's not only been awful this year you know.... I don't think he's much of a disappointment only this year.

Sierra played pretty well last year. he put up some good power numbers in limited action. i guess seattle was hopin for a repeat performance.

dont expect too much from guys who've been out of baseball for some time. thats my philosophy.

Sierra was the comeback player of the year with Texas last year, and he was leading the league in hitting after about 3 weeks this season. It's been all down hill since then. Last year he hit .291, 21 HR, 67 RBI. With 50 more AB this year, he is at .270, 13, 60.

Those aren't HUGE differences considering he went from Arlington to Safeco...

Better: Vernon Wells, Eric Hinske, Josh Phelps, Chris Woodward, Orlando Hudson, Roy Halliday

Worse: Delgado... no worse than last year, but... another bad season = lowering his grade.
