This is a bug that has been driving my 1950s league nuts for 8 seasons. I didn't actually catch it until I started a pre1900 league using 136 game schedule.
Apparently, OOTP 6.5's design has the following formula:
Code:
MagicNumber = 163 - 1stPlaceTeamWins - 2ndPlaceTeamLosses
while it should have been
Code:
MagicNumber = #ofGamesInSeason - 1stPlaceTeamWins - 2ndPlaceTeamLosses
Since we are playing 154 game schedules in our league (until 1961) instead of 162 game schedules, the number is actually off by 8.
Not sure if this will ever get fixed in OOTP6.5, but figured I'd mention it, especially if it is this way in other more recent versions. We aren't planning to switch from 6.5 anytime soon due to demand, so I am hopeful for some sort of patch.
Thanks,
Chris
