Game crashed after viewing shortlist

Clicked the shortlist, game crashed, now it gets to 100% loading and freezes, is the file gone?

Hi there.

I'm very sorry your issue has sat here for so long without a response.

Us volunteers are a little on the burnt-out side right now! That's not an excuse, though, but let's see if we can make some progress, if you're still around after all this time...

First, are you still having this problem?

If so, I'd try at least a few things:

1. Rename faces.dat to faces.old, and try loading the league again.

2. Let the league sit for a good long time at 100%. If you eventually get in, try to save and see if the file behaves well after that.

Should I just delete faces? It didn't do anything, and froze and not responding at 100% still

I got in after removing the faces file, so I can't use facepacks at all?

Just simmed a season, hired a new scout and went to set his scouting task list and crashed again, I could get into the game again but lost the season, but it's a recurring problem

mets07- are you on Mac or PC? The only non-FaceGen crashes I've had have come from either looking at the player Shortlist, or at the Scouting Tasklist. I've mentioned them here, but no one else seemed to have a problem with these things, so I've just learned to save before using them (I don't use them often). The crashes don't always happen (which I find odd), but have happened several times, and I have no idea why certain times are different from others. I'm on Mac- are you having problems only with these two screens, or with others?

Are you seeing this behavior in one saved game or in multiple ones? If only in one saved game, could you create another one to use as a test, play around with it a bit, and see if you can cause similar crashes?

It happens sooner or later in every league I create

How long into the game? Any rhyme or reason that you can discern?

Nope, usually when I create a new league quite a few times it will crash everytime I exit, I just started saving before I exited and kind of ignored the problem, but now it happens eventually when I view random pages (eg available managers/shortlist/etc.)

Could you try uninstalling and reinstalling the game to see if that makes the problem go away?
