Getting very irritated, downloaded game 3 times today

I need help ASAP. I have tried to download OOTP4, three times today. It downloads, then when I try and install it gives me this message:

Could not initalize installation. Size expected= 13939784. Size returned=10103291. Parameter is incorrect.

I have even gone and downloaded the new version of DirectX and it is still not working...

HELP!?

I'm pretty new to OOTP, but sounds to me like you didn't get the full download of the program. This happened to me too, but I was successful after four or five tries.

Once I actually got the full download, everything worked fine.

Are you downloading the game through AOL? The AOL browser has a nasty habit of cutting off downloads early. Try downloading the game through an external IE session and you may have better luck.

(This is what I had to do)

When I had the problem of having the dl cut off early I used a dl helper program and it solved my problem easily. I tried many more thimes than 5( I can be very stubborn at times) but AOL wouldnt let it dl completely . A search engine would turn up quite ba few but I used flashget from flashget.com it was free and easy to use. Hope this might help you if its a related problem

I am going to try your flashget, as I just tried for the 4th FREAKING time and it still didn't work.

Many AOLers have also experienced success when they downloaded using the ftp site link - that is one of the game download options at http://www.ootp4.com/downloadgame.shtml

I used to use GETRIGHT located at www.getright.com when i had a dialup modem. Getright is a download resumer.
