Turn back the clock....

It’s Time To
Turn Back The Clock...

Remember that skinny kid in Pittsburgh who was on the verge of being one of the greatest all around players the game ever seen? The kid could steal bases with the best of them, he could hit for average and power and he can even play gold glove defense. Now he is a monster of a man who looks more like the Hulk and surrounded by controversy as he is about to break one of sports most sacred records….

Remember the excited All-Star game of 2002 which began with Hank Aaron, Willie Mays and Cal Ripken celebrating the games most memorable moments? Remember the unbelievable catch by Torii Hunter to rob Barry Bonds of a home run? All these great events for the game were going on only to be ruined by both teams running out of pitchers and having to call the game in a tie, leaving the fans leaving disappointed….

Remember the negative affect the strike of 1994 left on baseball? Remember how two men literally picked up the game and put it on their back as they both chased baseball’s most exciting record? Mark McGwire and Sammy Sosa went head to head in pursuit of 61! What a great summer it was in 1998, it brought baseball back on its feet…

Wait Jose Canseco felt blackballed by the league and decided to write a tell-all book and throw everyone under the bus. All of a sudden the U.S. Congress and Major League Baseball go together like Peanut Butter and Jelly. All of a sudden the news comes out that the amazing summer of 98' could be marred in controversy and the magic we all witnessed were under false pretenses…..

The Red Sox win the World Series for the first time in 86 years…..

The White Sox win first in 88 years….

The Cubs….. Okay its easy to blame Bartman but they just fell apart and are still looking for their World series…

What about Tom Hicks and the Rangers changing the financial landmark of baseball forever by signing Alex Rodriguez to a 10-year, $252 million dollar contract.

What about those prospects you just knew were going to be the next superstar (Rick Ankiel, Josh Hamilton, etc) to only see them get derailed…

What about the ones who out of nowhere became the games best (Albert Pujols, Dontrelle Willis)?

As A Baseball fan over the past ten years, we sure witnessed a lot. Some were amazing, some were a disgrace. Its too bad everything we witnessed now seems marred in controversy. I mean really who knows what to believe anymore? The game has completely dismissed one of the great laws of America, “Innocent until proven guilty” and almost flipped it around, leaving everyone feeling ‘guilty until proven innocent”

As baseball fans, we will never know the real truth on some of these occurrences but as a baseball fan who loves gaming, we can go back and re-create some of the games best moments. We can even create even more special moments and that’s why I am starting the “Elite Baseball Alliance”

The league will begin in 1997, so we can recreate the past 10 years and replay history. By not going too far back, this will allow us to not only recreate history but create our own history as well.

The EBA are looking not only for sport gamers but also passionate baseball fans. We are looking for people who understand the game of baseball and understand the primary principles of what separates an online league that lasts a season from a great league that lasts a long time.

If you think you got what it takes, email me at Dbobola22@aol.com

--- Very important note:
EBA is in the initial stages of developing what we consider to be a very strong league that will be around a long time. If you are interested in this type of league and want to be a member, your more than welcome to join now but please be aware that we will not start simming tomorrow or this week.

By rushing, I would feel like we are starting off at a disadvantage. I posted this early for the following:
  • 1. For those who want to join a good, solid league and are not in a hurry. So you care more about quality than a quick league
  • 2- For anybody who is interested in taking part in the league as more than a General Manager. The Co-Commissioner is filled but there are two more "League Office" openings and the "Entertainment Department" still has openings. For more info, please email me
  • 3- For those who are not ready to join but want to keep up with the progress of the league with the hopes of joining later
