Salary report not correct
I just signed Bubba Crosby to a one year contract for $400,000 and assigned him to my AAA team. I was looking at the salary report for the major league squd and noticed Crosby was listed having a three year contract. I went back and checked the player profile and it does show the one year contract. So I started looking at all of the teams salary reports and noticed none showed any of the one year contracts, they all were listed as 3+ years. Has anyone else noticed this?
Thanks Phil... |

How much MLB service time does Crosby have? He may be signed to a 1-year contract, but if he has less than 6 years of service, you control him for longer, and this will be reflected in the salary report.
A rookie will most often appear to have a 1-year deal in his Profile, but a 3-year deal* (at the min salary) in the salary report; this is because his contract will be automatically renewed for 3 years (followed by 3 years where his salary is determined by arbitration). Of course, if you don't want to pay him after the first year, you can always drop him during the offseason. * you control a rookie for 6 years (3 at min wage, 3 through arbitration), though I think the salary report only shows 3 years into the future.
