i have no scouts

Okay, i'm sure this is a simple fix and i'm just slow at the moment, but I have no scuots and can't hire any. When I do to the available personnel screen and offer a contract to a scout, it says i have no openings available.
I also have no scouts though.
I'm playing a realistic MLB league only I expanded the league to add 2 new teams. I am playing as one of those 2 teams. It's still January if that matters.
Is there a way to fix this?

It sounds like you have scouting off, and if so, it's easy to fix. Go to Game menu --> Game Setup --> Global Setup. There should be a checkbox in the top of the lefthand pane, 'Use Complete Scouting System'. That needs to be on. Is that the issue?

I have 4 solo leagues going right now, and only one of them has scouting on.

One final note- if you turn scouts off, all the ratings you see are the real ratings used by the game. If you turn scouts on, the ratings will normally have some 'scouting error'. I prefer to have scouts on; I think it's more challenging, and don't want to see the real ratings, but you have both options.
