Players' college careers

I was wondering how do you get players to only spend 4 years in the college feeder league? I've seen players that's played like 9 years in college ball for like 3 or 4 different colleges. I want my players to play 4 years in college then goto the free agent pool to see if anyone signs them, if not, too bad. It seems that college teams are signing players in the free agent pool. I don't want that....How do I stop it and get it to work the way I want it to?

My league automatically does exactly what you're wanting yours to do. Did you change any of the default settings for the feeder league?

My first thought is that you did not set your league age min/max for 18-22; you will mostly get four year players, maybe five years depending on how birthdays fall.

However, it sounds like this is not working as a feeder league, but as an independent unaffiliated minor league. I'm speaking from experience and I will share a note that I wrote to myself on this:

IMPORTANT: A feeder league cannot be constructed separately and added later to a template or started game; the affiliation to the major league does not work as intended and it functions as a minor league instead of a feeder league. Instead, a feeder league has to be added to the major league using the Add League button, and saved with the major league as part of the template or game. The ways to check whether this has been done properly are: 1. There will be an option in the major league game setup under Amateur Draft rules called Draft Feeding Mode for how the draft pool should be populated, feeder system only or feeder system + additional players, and 2. The feeder league will show the important age minimums and maximums under its roster rules, while an affiliated minor league does not show these settings.
