Transferring existing league onto new computer
How do I go about transfering my existing league onto a new laptop that I just got? I know I could email it to myself but I don't think you can email entire folders, only single files. If I could just transger the .lg file over I'd be in business. Anyone have any ideas to help? Thanks for your time.

You could burn it onto a CD, use a Zip disk, or network the two computers over Ethernet and transfer the league files this way.

Just .zip the league folder. It's now just one file. Then email it.
If you burn it onto a CD you're going to have to be careful, because that process tends to make all the files "Read-Only" so then you'd have to go through the pain of changing them so the game will have write access (which it needs). |

Tip: Be sure to copy the folder with your stadium pics too (if you use pics). Otherwise you'll have to re-download and re-edit them (this, too, I found out the hard way )

As far as emailing the files (even if zipped into one), a lot of email services put a limit on attachment size, so this might not work.
Thanks for the CD tip ScottVib - I will probably get a new computer next year and I would have burned the files on CD without knowing they were read only. |
