OOTP4 vs OOTP5

Forgive me if this is a dumb question, I just started playing OOTP about two months ago.

I paid for OOTP4 and downloaded it. When OOTP5 comes out, do I need to pay again if I want to use the new version? Or do I just download a patch without paying?

Thanks!

In the past, it has been done where you have to pay again for the new version. Maybe Steve will confirm that this will be true for version 5?

OOTP5 will be an entirely new game, it is a sequel and not a patch.

There will be another free patch for OOTP4 (Version 4.2) expected out in October.

Just to confirm v5 will be a totally new release and must be paid for in full, however that won't be till Spring '03 so there is plenty of time to enjoy v4.

To make OOTP5 work properly you must:
  • Turn off the monitor
  • Step away from the machine
  • Turn on the monitor
  • Spin twice clockwise
  • Turn off the monitor
  • Double click on the Control Panel Icon
  • Type the secret password, orehymsiregdoDtfarD in the proper space
  • Turn on some running water for 5 seconds
  • Spin three times counter clockwise
  • Double click the OOTP5 Icon
  • Turn the monitor back on
  • The game should then work.

But only if you manage to get everything just right.

(This protection scheme against would-be piraters is really quite obnoxious any chance it can be toned down in the next patch? )

Obviously this is facietious you must spin clockwise 3 times as well

Or plenty of time to just keep enjoying OOTP3 as I am now, and hope that OOTP5 justifies its purchase price ...

Just my own opinion ...

Actually I'll probably buy version 5 when it comes out no matter what - so I can join an online league.

I am trying to run OOTP5 off of my palm pilot, but the floppy won't fit properly. I disconnected my palm pilot power switch twice, I hit the tiny screen with a large hammer until it cracked, and I removed the hinges from my bathroom door, but the game still doesn't work. My questions are: How do I get the stadium pictures to show up, and who wants to join the league I am starting up?

Silly, you need to download FileZ, Backup Buddy, Laptop Hack, pEdit, and Shadow-plan first.

Why, just install bugme, hours, tealprint, and overclock_hack. That seems to work for me. Then make that the backlight option is set to dim. When I do that, OOTP simply screams on my visor edge.

See my post-count. We newbies can have a sense of humor too.

Steve .

Instead of BB's..out of the left ear.......should be MARBLES.....from the right ear. That should balance things out nicely.

And the hammer trick? Use a ball peen. More bangin' for your buck
