I ran a league on my computer as the Montreal Expos and Jimmy Rollins was my shortstop, and he had 89 steals. Brandon Phillips was my second baseman and he had 61 steals. I didn't cheat, but Rollins's speed and stealing ability were both A, and Phillips's speed was A and stealing ability was B. I also had the manager tendencies for stealing set to "Very Often," while everything else was set to "normal". I know these guys should both have had a lot of stolen bases considering their ability, but don't you think this is a little TOO much? Is there a bug I don't know about?

A bug?
NO I wouldn't say so. Rollins has the best speed and stealing attributes the game allows plus you're telling him to steal almost anytime he's on base. 100SB isn't that many for a year given those conditions. |

People have stolen more than that before so I see no problem.

First season of CUBL we had a fictional player steal 100 bases. He was on pace for 140 I think half way through the season.. but dropped off at the end.
No one has even come close to that since. His ratings were also AA Kurtis

I had someone steal 114 bases in the second year of my fictional league and I had it set to often. He ended his fictional career with 1365 and no one else was within 600 after simming 43 years.

In the (dearly departed) online PSBL, my speedy center fielder Jason Johnson had a league record 104 stolen bases. (A/A set to Often)

I've got a B/B runner that has 50+ SB through mid July -- and I run nearly every chance I get, so that's not high at all.

I think that is well within what the numbers of steals should be. Since he was an A/A player with steals set to often. On another note I have seen the PSBL mentioned several times...what happened to the league?

Had I more experience I would have asked to take it over. The web site is still up PSBL.net complete with no pop-up message board. A lot of guys that were in that league have gone on to much success in other leagues...Joe Moore and Lloyd Goodrich are now Commissioners themselves. Other former GMs like Michael Eichhorn, Vincent Bozanic, Sean Torgerson, and Shane Borgeson are very well respected members of the OOTP community. and of course there was that Scott Fite character whose team won a couple PSBL Championships...

Yeah the PSBL was a great league with some very dedicated owners. I have always been holding out hope that someway the league would be revived. |

Not at all odd. In my sim league, Ichiro's base-stealing skills increased suddenly...he stole a lot of bases.

Well, after back to back 95 loss seasons in the PSBL, the Hollywood Stars were easy to forget!

I have had fiction players in the 80s with normal settings, and a few in the low 100s with 'very often' settings.
