Error with Roster
I have downloaded Airmansmith, Cubby and Darkclouds roster sets. Everytime I try to start a saved game the game says cannot start because of corrupt file or roster set from earlier game. I have removed the game and rosters from my computer and tried to re-download several times to no avail. Could someone tell if there is an easier way to input roster as opposed to downloading league to your saved games or if there is another set out there.

Help!!!
I am at wits end. I have downloaded Airmansmith, Cubby and Darkclouds roster sets. Everytime I try to start a saved game the game says cannot start because "loading of the database failed. It is either corrupt or a saved-game from an old version. The only thing that will work is if I start a new game with fictional players. Please help I am about to give up on OOTP.
My system is as fast enough to support game: Windows XP Home with Service Pack2 2 GB Virtual Memory (1.96 Available) 300 GB Hard Drive Intel Dual Core Processor 775xFire SATA2 Motherboard ATA All in Wonder Graphics card. I have run Airmans game on system before patch. I have uninstalled and re-installed game, patch and rosters several times. Please HELP!!! |

Cubby's only available roster at the moment is from last year; you'd need to convert it to '07 before using it. His '07 rosters will be out soon, apparently.

I have tried using airmen and darclouds as well. All seem to say they are from last year.

Well if fictional leagues work then you are doing something wrong with the real rosters. What are you using to extract them? Where are you putting the file? Are you making sure the folder has a .lg extension? Are you making sure you didn't extract a .lg folder inside of a .lg folder when you run you zip/rar util?

I am downloading and extracting into the saved games folder. I then go to try to load saved game and it starts to load then gives me the above error. They all have a .lg extension.

Although it ought to work either way, since these are apparently OOTP 2006 saved games, have you tried the option to import a 2006 saved game from the main screen?
Which version of OOTP 2007 are you using? |

Airman and Dark Cloud are both '07 roster sets, although they were both designed before the latest patch. I doubt that would cause any issues, however. I'm surprised a Lahman import won't work. Did you download the .csv version? You would then need to create a Historical League, and point OOTP to the location of the database; it is not a saved game. If you try it, as a test disable the 'Import Entire History' the first time; that's a very memory-intensive and time-consuming process.

The Airman and Darkcloud roster are '07 versions. I am using them on another computer. I can't even starta historical using 2006. It is not an old version. What other ideas do you have.

Yes. I was able to get the lahman db but the current 2007 roster, especially the Airman roster it say is unable to load because the file is corrupt. I have reinstalled numerous times to no avail.

The good news is that Cubbyfan/haveband will be releasing a 2007 roster set quite soon, with complete minors. There are a couple of other roster sets in progress. If you can wait a little while (it's unspoken policy not to pressure roster makers, because of the enormous amount of work they are donating to the community), you should have an excellent roster set to work from. You can read through the Cubbyfan roster thread in the Rosters section (via Mods) to see where things stand now.

The other roster sets ought to be working for you. Could you tell us exactly what folder you put your .lg real roster folder into? Could you tell us exactly which files and folders you find in your .lg folder?

Why is there a .lg file in side the mlb.lg folder? That is your likely problem. See post #5 above.
