Created Fictional Nation not displaying

Followed the steps for creating a fictional nation in the Manual but the nation and cities I added in their respective files do not show up when I start the game.

Any ideas?

Are you starting a new game after creating this nation, or are you trying to use a save that was created before you created the nation? Nations created after starting up a game may not show up until you create a new game.

I figured it out and it was something I was doing wrong.
