Deleting a Feeder League

Whats the best way to delete a feeder league. Id rather just go with generated amateurs as they provide a better spread of talent and more variety in player types. However, I don't want all the feeder players dumped as FAs (thus producing ultra strong farm systems).

Any ideas or suggestions?

I don't know if this will work, but if I were going to try this, I would go into each feeder team and delete all the players, and then go into the game setup screen and delete each team. Depending on your feeder system, this could take a while, but AFAIK it's the only way to be sure you're getting all the feeder-team players before you change the league structure.

Thank you.

Do you know if there is any harm in doing this during the season? My draft is in November, so if I delted them now (July) would my game crash come November, or would the game just generate my draft for me?

I don't know.

The safest thing would be to wait for the offseason.

The second-safest thing would be to back up your league, delete the players and feeder leagues, and sim through November to see what happens. If it crashes, you can go back to the backup copy.

There is an option to have the computer fill the draft with free agents if the feeder leagues don't have enough people in them; I assume you could check that and - in the absence of any players at all - it would generate a full draft class. But I emphasize that I haven't done this and don't really know what would happen if you tried it.

I believe the computer creates the non-feeder league players one month before the draft when the list of players who are draft-eligible is released. I would imagine that deleting the feeder league anytime before that list is released would be okay, but please note that I have never tried this so I don't know for certain.

It would take a lot less time if the game had a 'mass select' option.

Thanks again everyone. I plan on just deleting the teams soon, so I'll let you know by the start of next week what happens (I plan on hitting the draft next monday or tuesday).
