changing nations.txt
I've made a change in my nations.txt file in order to add a fictional nation but it's not displaying in 2007. I've checked the manual and I followed the steps described.
Any idea on what I've done wrong. |

I recently changed my nations.txt as well, and it *does* show up in the game, so here are a couple of ideas off the top of my head.
Did you put the edited nations.txt in the database folder before you opened the game? Did you start a new league at that point? It's hard to know what went wrong without more information about the change you made, when you made it, and what you did after making the change. Anything else you can add would be helpful.

What I had done was to copy the txt file to my jump key, edit it there, then copy over the existing file in the game, then start the game and try to start a new game. The new nation did not display as an option in the new game.
However, I've discovered that a game I've imported from 2006 that used my new nation does display all the correct info including national flag, cities, listing in table of world nations. Unfortunately, every time I try to start a new game with a league placed in the new nation it is unavailable (i.e. not to be found in the list of nations). Hope that provides more info. |

Is this a macintosh problem I'm experiencing?
I've added a new nation to the nations.txt file. The information is in the correct format. it's simply the next nation on the list (i.e. 229) I updated the file before starting the game (i.e. overwrote the current file using the method described in the manual for doing this) I start the program up and wether I'm creating a new world or looking at an already existing one, the new nation DOES NOT DISPLAY I was able to do this in 2006 without any problem on the same MacBook Pro. I find it amazing that I need to try doing this literally dozens of times without success. |
