Endurance

Was wondering if anyone has noticed an increase in endurance if you move a reliever to starter. Is it best to do this in spring training and if so how do they usually do when you move them? thanks for any help

I have not noticed that, in either 2007 or 2006. Have you?

Me neither. I'm pretty sure what you see instead is a drop in the pitcher's ratings because his endurance remains the same while becoming a more heavily weighted factor in his ratings when he is converted to starter. Unless, of course, he already has high endurance.

A player can learn new positions in spring training but I don't think factors like endurance can be increased merely by making him start spring training games.

You could designate a player to train a particular rating during spring training in earlier versions of the game, couldn't you? (I'm thinking version 5.) But that hasn't been an option since Markus switched to the new game engine. T-Law, I think you're out of luck.

Yeah, the removal of being able to have certain players work on certain parts of their game during ST was my biggest disappointment with the new versions.

this is an area I would like to see tweaked a bit. I would love to see a player who you think can start lose a bit of ratings for increased endurance. And a player who is becoming less effective as a starter have his ratings increase at the expense of his endurance. Of course there would be some sort of randomness to how the ratings will work out. But it would be cool to move a young starter who isnt cutting it to a reliever role and see how he responds.
