Personal Hiring

I have had a couple of instances now where I did not lock up a scout or manager with an extension. At the end of their season I get a message from the commish office stating that they are leaving the organization. I look at their profile and they are already signed with another team.<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-comfficeffice" /><o></o>

Is there a way to get a warning that your staff are about to leave, or at least get a shot at resigning them before them go elsewhere? Unfortunately I lost a couple of very highly rated scouts and had to replace them with scrubs.<o></o>

A related question, when are staff from other organizations available to sign? There never seems to be anyone that has any talent available. And if there is the AI grabs them up before human players ever have a chance.

I found it to be advisable to go through my personnel lists before end of season and offer extensions to anybody whom I wanted to keep. Look for the current game year in the "Through" column on the Personnel page. As far as grabbing desirable and available personnel, I think the best time to do that is the first day of off-season when good people get fired by the AI. His loss, my gain. Also, watch your league news for items about such people getting fired during the season.

I have tried my best to make sure all my quality personell are locked up, but have missed a couple.

Thanks 1998 Yankees

(I never thought I'd say that as I am a major league Yankee's hater)

Yeah, it just "feels" wrong doesn't it?
It makes you sick to your stomach and you feel dirty after you say it right?

yuck...

It really does...

I will just put it this way. In the past 6 years the Yankees have spent over one billion dollars on players. The Twins, in their history, have not spent one billion dollars...

Question

I wonder if Montreal Canadien fans had to put up with that thirty years ago?

Oh, and congratulations on making the Hall of Fame!

Why, thank you very much, kind sir. And may I compliment you on your new avatar? Your first, if I am not mistaken.

I would love if OOTP had a reminder like Football Manager does that lets you know someone is reaching the end of their contract (before it actually expires). Sometimes after a marathon session, I forget to check on contracts and I lose personnel.

Yes, back on topic. Enough about me, interesting though I may be.

A simple summary message at the end of the regular season detailing personnel status would be just the thing.

I would even take a report that lists the staff contracts similar to the player finances report. Just something that lists out all staff members and their contracts and lengths. A reminder weould be great too.
