Crashed after 10 years

Not sure why. I know, not helpful; but ticked me off. I was fast simming from 1901-1921 (fictional) while I slept; and when I got up today game had crashed at 2012.

I saved the template before I started, so I'm gonna rerun and try again.

As helpful as I can be ..

3 Major Leagues
-- American 2 Leagues, 2 Div. 8+8
(with minors)
AAA
AA
-- Japanese 2 Leagues, 2 Div. 6+6
(no minors)
-- Cuban 2 Leagues, 2 Div. 4+4
(no minors)

OK, crashed again; and I still have the error reports up. Can't save them though, so I'd like to get any info tech will need while their up.

Probably helpful.

It is crashing on the same day.

It was December 30, 1912 the first time, and I started in 1901.

It was December 30, 1913 the second time, and I started in 1902.

Of note, next up on the "to-do" list .. MLB Amatuer draft December 31st.

Not sure exactly what you mean.

All it really says is ootp2007.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvience.

Then an option to tell Microsoft about the problem, and to view error reports that will be sent to them.

They are still on my screen, if any of that info will be helpful.

Try moving the draft back a couple of days to say, 28th December and see what happens.

I could, but I really don't think that'd be it. It ran 11 successful seasons each time; so I don't think it would be the draft date.

But, then again, I'm willing to try anything.

Do you have annual csv/sql dumps, or almanacs being created? I believe they occur on 31st December. Do you have plenty of hard disk space on the drive they are created on?

No, no, no. Yes, I have plenty of space though.

I did have create pictures upon creation on, going to try turning that to "on demand"; thinking that could be it, since the prob seemed to happen while it was saving faces.

Delete the faces.dat file.
Disable Facegen.

See if it still happens. It probably has something to do with Facegen if it's while saving faces.dat. I'm wondering if it has something to do with some of the other save crashes I've been reading about.

Actually, I started a new one in 1901, and am in 1919; so I'm already 7 years out of the "danger zone". Leading me to think it was because of the creating pictures upon player creation and changing it to "upon demand" is a cure.

But, still makes me wonder that once I get in the game, and have looked at a bunch of players and news articles (all of which creates pictures) that it may happen again, someday when its "too full" again. So, I will give your recommendation a shot for testing as well.

I'll report my findings, (probably sometime Monday) in the event that someone, someday has the same problem.
