OK, here is a quickie I wrote this morning. A quick way to locate names for historical import.

http://www.planetootp.com/AUNames/default.htm

Install it and run it. Located your Lahman database and hit START.

Give it a second and it will load in all of the player names and their Lahman ID. Minimize the program and then launch OOTP.

Now when you want to import a historical player, you can ALT TAB to my program and locate what his Lahman database ID is to make importing easier. NOTE: You can click in the name list on my program and hit a letter, like S and it will take you to the names that start with S.

It now shows the player's baseball-Reference page on the right if you click on the players name. Makes it easy to see what year you want.

Awesome. That's better than scrounging through all those CSV files by hand.
