when trying to initialize ootp 2007

I get a 0xc0000005 Error and the game crashes before it begins when I try to start OOTP 2007. I’m pretty sure this may have something to do with my Norton Anti-virus as my last version (ootp 6.5) suddenly developed this error after I had successfully played a few seasons with it. It must have occurred after some update from Norton. I bought the new version of OOTP 2007 thinking it was a corrupted file and it was time to upgrade to the new version anyhow. I just need a fix for this problem because I’m dying to play this new 2007 version.

Sincerely;
Jay Parker

It may not be Norton (it might, don't know) but it might also be Facegen. What kind of video card are you using and do you have up-to-date drivers for it?

Nvidia 6600 GT. I tried loading the newest driver and I still have the same error message. Any other suggestions?

Jay, did you ever figure this one out? Did you try uninstalling and reinstalling?

Yes. As it turned out it wasn't a Driver or Norton problem. Windows XP had added a new feature that was fixable by just getting into the control panel, system, advanced, performance, and clicking on the tab called Data Excution Prevention. I turned it all off and check the first box which allowed DEP only for essential Windows programs. Once I rebooted, the program was able to establish a link to the web site and complete the registration process and the game loaded normally. Now I'm just trying to figure out all the new features of the new game.
