Babe Ruth - 1921

Using the Lahman DB.

Code:
Year/Team/League	Age	G	AB	H	2B	3B	HR	RBI	R	BB	HP	SF	K	SB	CS	AVG	OBP	SLG	OPS	VORP
1921 Boston - ML	26	152	541	248	44	13	74	224	212	188	4	6	41	18	8	.458	.595	.998	1.594	244.7

That's a pretty good year

One of the biggest failings of Lahman database is it's lack of stats for beer and hotdogs.

How about this 2 year run

Code:
Career Batting Stats
Year/Team/League Age G AB H 2B 3B HR RBI R BB HP SF K SB CS AVG OBP SLG OPS VORP
1922 Boston - ML 27 149 602 229 32 11 70 198 147 55 2 12 18 19 3 .380 .426 .819 1.245 141.9
1923 Boston - ML 28 148 611 286 40 10 84 205 160 47 2 5 14 15 9 .468 .504 .979 1.482 211.3
While that is impressive, he's only 7th on the HR list (though 1970). Jimmy Foxx is first, hitting 924 HR's in a 26 year career. And Ted Williams won 13 MVP awards, including 9 in a row.

What was the first year of your import?

Did you have player recalc on?

Did you have the auto league modifiers on?

Do you have historic player creation modifiers on?

Set the draft date to November 1 instead of June so players import in the correct historic year.

In repeated historic beta testing, we got excellent results for single season and career leaders with those settings. But Babe Ruth has always been a bear to sim accurately because he was so much better than anyone ever to play the game.

Wow...insane stats. Babe has got to be the best of all time, so these stats aren't too crazy.

More importantly, how did he manage to get through that entire season only being hit by pitch four times? I'd think he'd spend the whole year flat on his back.

I'd put my money on babe in a fight vs any pitcher.

I have the players assigned to their original teams so the amatuer draft is disabled.
