My first crack at modifying OOTP web pages

Check this out and let me know what you think. I just created my first banner and tweaked the pages just a little as well as the style set.

I did this with the 2006 output, but from what I remember, 2007 didn't look any different.

Thanks for any feedback

Ooops, only look at the USBL league pages since I didn't upload the whole shabang.

Thanks!

There's a lot going on in the back round. However, I like the idea and attempt. What I mean by "a lot going on" is that there are a lot of different colors all on the same page which for me personally is a bit much for the eyes. Now, that may be because my eyes aren't all that great too. I would like to see something like a huge MLB logo (just for example) but in a transparent mode. The logo would take up most of the page but be transparent. I hope I making sense as I am very tired right about now. I woke up at 4:15am to go to work and I gotta do the same thing every day so I am a bit tired, lol.

Keep it up though silvam14. Your work is always good. I remember when you first started out. I'm going to have to get into graphic mod making again.

Thanks man! I appreciate the comments. I know what you mean by too much going on. I am just playing around with the background. I really appreciate your suggestions, I'll try some different things and update the site.

I would suggest trying some bold colors first and then add some images of players but make the players images a bit transparent.

Hey Silvam, nice looking web page. I kinda like the colors!! That squad from Missouri seems to be a rather good team.

Thanks!

Yeah, Missouri has a couple of aces on their staff that really blew away the competition in their league. I don't have financials on so trades are really the only player movement, which can make for some uber-teams once in a while if they draft good.

I too like the color selection as it makes for good contrast and is very easy to read. So often text/background colors are poorly chosen to allow that.

Oh great I am going to sound like the mean person again. I really let people know what I am thinking when I view a webpage but most people appreciate my comments.

I will just go with what I am thinking when I look at the page which is what I think you want me to do.

I am not real fond of the grayish parts with the black lines through it.

I also think it is a bit on the busy side and it is very distracting to me for some reason. I would go with a solid background color of some kind.

When I was hovering over the links on the home page with an orangey color in the background it was kind of hard to read the links.

Now I am going to have to break out the old color wheel to find some suggestions that might be a good contrast to the color orange.

I would say the colors of green or blue might be a good choice.

Actually it was pretty easy to read the links that just had the grayish background when I think about it.

I hope this helps some.

Now thats what I like. Now I would add some player pics (action pics) but make them transparent. Just some thoughts.

Nice job though.

That one little thing that you did made those links so much easier to read it is amazing. It also makes it easier to read at least to me because when a person hovers over the link the link is bold now.

Continuing to make improvements, silvam. In that last screenie, is that an AI game or did you happen to manage Virginia? The screenshot has me wanting to see the rest of the boxscore info as it sure looks like, unless I'm misleading myself, that Virginia might have been doing a li'l double-switching.

I'm finding your latest effort easy to read and easy on the eyes. Is there a slightly brighter shade of red available on your pallette?

Edit: I guess there is. It looks like the red in the banner is brighter than the numerals.

Its not red, its orange, and It is definitely the same color orange on the whole page.

Thanks for the thoughts guys!

Damn! And I'm looking at it without my sunglasses on (which can sometimes alter colors).
