Feeder league info
Just wondering if anyone is able to provide a high level overview of feeder leagues. Some random questions:
Do the feeder leagues have drafts to add new players? If so, how are the ages of the feeder league players determined? Is there any way to set parameters for which feeder league players are eligible for the "Major League" draft? Or is every feeder league player available for the draft every year? Like can you force feeder league players to spend 4 years before being eligible for the draft? That's about it though any other info would be appreciated. I think this feeder league concept is great as I used to work it manually in previous versions of the game. Just curious/anxious to hear any info. Thanks! |

You have to set an age minimum and age maximum of a feeder league. Once a player reaches the age maximum, he is dumped into the draft pool of the feeded league.
When a new season starts in a feeder league, the rosters are filled up again with players aged the minimum age. So basically, the old players get drafted (or dumped into the FA pool if undrafted), and young ones get added automatically afterwards. Last edited by Markus Heinsohn; 02-03-2007 at 09:50 AM. |

HS 15-18 Col 18-22 Or set manually so technically you could have a HS 1-4 age feeder league but I don't know why you would want to do that. Quote:

Hey thank you for all the information, sounds great. Can there be multiple feeder leagues for one "Major" league? In other words, can you have one feeder league with an age maximum of 18 and another with an age max of 25 feeding into one league? And if so, would there be one or two drafts for that league (one for each feeder league or would they be combined)?

Is it possible to set it so that the majority of (or all of) the players generated for a high school team have a hometown that matches the high school?

I really like this idea. I'm thinking of it in terms of a "Cape Cod League" type thing. It also makes it a lot easier to play without scouting (you can do this now, but drafting would be nearly impossible).

Just curious because everything I've read has been based on an age maximum (not term length) for feeder leagues and players would have to cut there last year of OOTP psuedo-college ball a little short if the age maximum is enforced while the season is being played

i dont know if this has already been discussed but...
can players go from one feeder to another, i.e. hs-college? also if they can will say a percent of the hs players go to the draft and then other good ones go to college? just wondering how that whole process works. |

I'm thinking some of these requests aren't in the game, at least not this year. According to the Markus:

yeah that would be great if markus could put that in the first time the game comes out, if not then in a patch. |

Sounds like there's no draft for the feeder leagues so I would think the answer to your question is "no, you can't have one feeder league feed another feeder league". But again, total guess. |

One of the nice things about having active board members as beta testers is the access to information like this.
Thanks guys for all the responses. |

Yes, these past few days have been very informative thanks to the many questions they have answered in a timely and comprehensive manner. For what cannot be answered yet, we just have to wait and see. I think I can wait, but just barely.

Actually, go fly to London and storm the ramparts of the new SI facility. I'm sure Marc would like someone to take him to lunch. |

For me, this fishing for info is mostly about just messing around, starting to formulate the league I'd like to build. I stopped playing 2006 mainly because I just couldn't get it to where I wanted it to be. But having read many of these posts, 2007 seems much stronger.
