Best mods?

In past versions of the game, I've attempted to add logos, but it always seemed so time consuming. Are there any good mods that allow you to easily add logos, hats, jerseys, etc.?

Thanks Faroo6. I'll check it out.

I like to run historical sims (as opposed to fictional). Wanted to add logos, caps, and jerseys and player pictures if it is not a major pain.

Are there any good websites anyone can recommend that post mods? What mods are easy to use?

Do the logos, pictures, etc., stay with players and teams as you sim from year to year? What are the issues when you expand?

For 2006 there is a forum for Mods, and there will soon be one for 2007. You can search through the 2006 Mod forum to find just about everything you could think of.

The "best" mods? That's going to be a very subjective call.

Five thousand thanks for a non-modder? I never thought I'd see the day. Thank you for your support.

Google News is not subjective, and look how well that works out.

LOL... I guess what I should have said was "all mods." It's not like I'm going to say no to someone who takes the time to produce a mod and wants it posted on my site.

Nice site PadresFan. Are you a fan of the Padres? (hee hee)

Maybe a different way to ask the question - are the mods easy to implement? I just remember trying to do logos and it was fairly time consuming - having to go in and rename each file. I couldn't image doing this for stadiums, logos, jerseys, and player pictures.

Are any of them plug and play?

Well, that's one opinion. I don't care for Google news at all.

Thanks Cheese... Whether or not the mods are easy to implement is rather subjective I think. For me, yeah, but that's because I've been modding for years. For a new user, probably not so much. It's really a matter of understanding the games file structure and knowing where to put things after you download them. Then you may need to know how to go into the game to get them to work properly.

From what I have seen so far, no, none of them are plug and play. For example, it's easy to download the logos, and it's easy to go into the game and assign each team their correct logo. You don't need to rename any files, but it does take a few minutes to select the new logo for each team within the game. I guess some may consider it time consuming, but it's worth the extra time. Hell, I bet many of us don't even start really playing the game for a few days as we mod our new associations, and set it up just the way we like it. For me, taking the time to implement the mods is part of the fun.

The time it takes to set up logos/ballparks/etc. is well worth it in my opinion, and there are lots of resources on this board to help with understanding all the steps involved.

You know I was wondering about that. I've asked him a few times if hit utilities would work with the 2007 version but haven't gotten a reply.

Yes, PadresFan they will work but SI is changing the csv setup so he will modify at or just before release.
