Field of Dreams League Has Openings
Hi guys, I'm Bob Fuhrman (AIM-OfficerTimFisher/PTWarr18), the Co-Commish of the Field of Dreams Baseball Simulation at www.fodsim.com We are a league that started up in August with the OOTP 2006 Software. When we started we had a full slate of owners but due to a problem with our league file that caused a 2 week hold up in simming before OOTP could fix it, we lost a lot of people. That was in Year 1. We have completed Year 2 (2007) of our league and still have a few openings I would like to have filled before the offseason ends. We have not been actively recruiting too much, but I think now is the time for us to fill this league for good.
To give you a little info on our league, we sim every M-W-F 10 days per sim. WE USE THE IN-GAME UPDATE FUNCTION, so you do not have to download and unzip every file the old way. Our offseason is about three weeks of daily sims, Monday through Friday. We are using real MLB rosters from 2006 so the teams have all changed some since then, we have a salary cap in effect currently at $185 million (decreases every year), with revenue sharing off. The only rules we have that are different from some leagues is that we have a limit on incentives in contracts, and have limited contract length to seven years. We are continually working to improve the rules by league discussion and voting to fix what we view as bugs in the gameplay. I am the Co-Commish, and our other Commish is Brian Nickerson (AIM- MakDaddy Nik). He and I are both very active in other leagues so you may have seen us around. We have a set up where we will alternate sim seasons, he does the odd numbered years and I do the even numbered years. Another league member, Rob Hoffman, has volunteered to do everything involving the webpage and he has done a great job with it. It really takes a lot of the burden of us when we have a reliable guy like Rob running the web site for us. Open Teams Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim- Lost in 7 Games of the 2007 World Series and our owner resigned due to change in jobs and work schedule. A good team set to compete now and in the future as they also have the #4 System in Baseball. Chicago White Sox- Have a 2nd place and 3rd place finish in the last two seasons. Still have a decent team, they just need an owner to put in a little work. #12 Minor League System which isnt too bad. Florida Marlins- Have the #1 System in Baseball and Finished Third in the NL East last year. Have the young talent to be a dominant team in the future. Washington Nationals- Well I've had good things to say about all the other teams but theres not too much to say here. 4th in the NL East last year and the #16 Ranked Minor League System. This team needs some work. If you are interested in joining please send an e-mail to Robert.Fuhrman@email.stvincent.edu with a list of 1) Full Name 2) AIM Screen Name 3) Location 4) Rank the 4 Available Teams in order of preference This info is for the owner page and to give you the team you want obviously. I expect this to fill fairly quickly so don't hesitate to e-mail right away. Thanks.
