CPU signing minor leaguers w/o me
(I could have sworn I saw this issue addressed on the boards, but now I can't find it after searching; apologies for this duplicate thread if it's out there somewhere)
I have my manager settings (on my Home Page) set so that everything is in my control except "Minor League Team Management," which is set to "minor league managers." But, I feel, one aspect of this setting isn't working. The AI is signing crappy FAs to MLCs and assigning them to my rookie league team affiliate. Right now, this team has 49 players on it. I realize that, most likely, any player who deserves to play will be uninterferred with by this unauthorized signings, who will mostly ride the bench. But it still bugs me that players are being added to my organization without my permission, as well as without any notification (or, most frustratingly, without any reason - the roster was full w/o any extra players needed). As I'm typing this, I may have narrowed down the problem. Every so often, I have the CPU "set up complete minor league system," from the transactions screen I've always assumed that this makes pro/demotions and sets ML lineups, but now I'm thinking they like to sign players when you do this too. So instead of a bug report, maybe this is a suggestion: don't let the AI sign players if I've indicated I don't want them to by selecting my name next to "Transactions (Signing, releasing players)" on my managers Home Page. Anyone else have thoughts, or can anyone else confirm my theory? Thanks. |

Can you check this out in the latest patch?
IMHO, the AI should not sign ANY players for you EVER, unless you have given them permission in the Manager Home page Transactions drop-down. |

We have a rule that states that Tech Support threads wherein we have not received a response within 7 days will be closed.
This one meets this criteria, so I'm closing this. If you want to discuss it again, just PM me with the thread link, and I'll re-open. (Don't just say "Hey, reopen my thread." I need to know the URL, thanks!) Steve |

Alrighty, it's been reopened. Thanks Steve.
Anyways, I can confirm that this problem is still happening for me, with both the new 1.03 patch as well as the one before it. The Transactions drop-down menu does say my name, but they'll still sign players. My theory is that they're trying to fill the rosters (so they can field a team), but my low A and rookie teams end up with (as many as) 40 or 50 players. I think they should alert you as soon as your minor league teams are short a player so YOU can fix the problem - and probably fix it better than the AI. It's not a huge problem, but I like my minors to be managable and I want to have every possible chance to know my entire organization. This is screwing that up, especially since the AI-signed players are completely worthless. Thanks. |

Have you elected to let the AI manage your minor leagues? If so, this is why they are signing all these minor league free agents.

When I set the AI to manage my minor league teams, all I wished the AI would do is promote/demote players and set the lineups. I wish it did not sign players.
