Re-release of Previous Ballpark Sets and a Brand New Set !!!
OK... Seeing Teflon come back with his marvelous ballparks got me to wondering about all the work that's been done in the past as well that has probably been forgotten / lost.
I know many of you do not remember, or have copies of the great ballparks Teflon did last year - but there is a set at the JoeRockEHF Download Center (see the link at BigCityBaseball) and the many many parks that DreamTeams has done over the past several years. There are many others as well, and unfortunately much of that work is now lost or forgotten. I figured before my past sets follow the same path, I'd re-collect and repost them for those that may be interested. In fact, I'd like to be sure that JoeRockEHF gets them all (Teflon, DTs and mine - as well as others we might uncover) on his download site - and I'll also cut them to a CD as another backup and send them to Steve for safekeeping. I'll put up a webpage at BigCityBaseball that will have a sample of each set in case you want to look before you download ![]() PS: I also want to take a minute to express my thoughts on Teflon's work. His ballparks are phenomenal, and someone recently was correct when they referred to his recent Ellsworth ballpark post as "The Return of the King" ![]() Thanks for your great work Tef, Henry Last edited by Henry; 02-07-2004 at 06:54 PM. |

Set 1
Here's the first set (others to follow later this weekend) ...
Henry's Baseball Parks Set 1 This set contains 44 ballparks captured from "Old Time Baseball" and "Tony LaRussa Baseball". As Teflon said, the artist that did these was fantastic. Because the entire ballpark could not be shown on the screen at the same time (the game scrolled around based on the action), these composites were pieced together from 12 seperate screen shots. The only one I will personally take credit for is Cleveland Municipal which was done by hand using Paint Shop Pro and a number of pictures. ps: The default player positions will work with this set. Set 3, coming later this weekend, is my "fictional ballpark set" which I created by "cutting-and-pasting" many pieces and parts of these stadiums into the fictional models. It might be fun to see if you can figure out which parts went to which ballparks ![]() Set 2 is a group of 100 (yes, 100!!) stadium layouts which can be used for fictional leagues using a variation of CMM's old template. I've used these ballparks for many of my leagues and never get tired of them. Set 4 is an unfinished set of 8 "real" ballparks in the Set 2 configuration that were made from architectural drawings. There's more sets to come as well, so keep watch !! Henry

Set 2
100 Ballparks that can be used in Fictional Leagues
100 ballparks for use as fictional stadiums. I've taken CCM01's idea a step further and laid out a pattern that allows a bigger ballpark picture, as well as repositions the player boxes in what I feel is a more pleasing layout. I've reversed the fielders to put the outfielders at the top of the list and the catcher at the bottom with the pitcher. I've also moved the batter between the pitcher and catcher, with the runners moving to the left, as would be seen from behind home plate. Each runner overlays the base he's on. As an added touch, left handed batters display just a bit "south" of right handed batters so it's easy to pick out the difference between left and right-handed batters when they come to the plate. I've used photos of minor league facilities, my fictional ballparks as well as others, architectural renderings, and a few paintings/drawings. Basically everything I've collected for some "future use". The images have a place for a team logo (upper left corner) and a team/stadium name (bottom). I use Jasc Paint Shop Pro as my graphics package (about $100) but many others will work as well. Be sure to convert these to BMP files. Here's the player X-Y positions you should use for these images ... P: (X:845,Y:555) C: (X:850,Y:446) 1B: (X:850,Y:414) 2B: (X:850,Y:382) 3B: (X:850,Y:318) SS: (X:850,Y:350) LF: (X:850,Y:286) CF: (X:850,Y:254) RF: (X:850,Y:222) RUNNER ON 1ST: (X:695,Y:509) RUNNER ON 2ND: (X:540,Y:509) RUNNER ON 3RD: (X:385,Y:509) RH BATTER: (X:850,Y:509) LH BATTER: (X:850,Y:519) FIELD START: (X:375,Y:130) (UNCHANGED) FIELD DIMENSIONS: (X:640,Y:480) (UNCHANGED) Henry's Baseball Parks Set 2

Set 5
Ballpark Model Set
I did these last January, using the Danbury Mint models. My intention was to create a visually pleasing set that captured the "feel" on the ballpark - not a technical representation. I used a variation of my revised CCM template, adding the infield below the main picture for the baserunners. All in all I really like this set. Note: Not all ballparks have models, so I improvised in those cases (see Olympic Stadium). Also, the player coordinates are in a file called "coordinates.jpg". Henry's Ballpark Model Set

Set 6 (NEW)
Lost Ballparks Collection
Here are 41 ballparks that are "no longer". Starting with the Baker Bowl (1895-1938) and ending with Riverfront Stadium (1970-2003). Once again I used a variation of my revised CCM template, adding the infield below the main picture for the baserunners. The player coordinates are in a file called "coordinates.jpg".
