Real World Quickstart Project

I am starting a project that will try to set up the world baseball leagues so that they interact as close to real life as possible. The in-game default leagues aren't set up very well financially which is the main reason I am doing this. I'll post my progress (and the eventual quickstart file) here in this thread.

Here is a list of the leagues I am definitely going to include...feel free to suggest any other leagues which you would like to see.

Major League Baseball (w/minor leagues)
[league redacted] (w/farm league)
Dominican Summer League*
Mexican League
Puerto Rican League
Korean Baseball Organization
Chinese Professional Baseball (i.e. Taiwanese League)
China Baseball League
Cuban Baseball League
Venezuelan Summer League*

*These are actually developmental leagues working with MLB in "real life", but there isn't a way to set that up in the game. So, what I will likely do is just make sure that the financials & free agency are set up in a way that MLB quality players will likely be signed by MLB teams pretty quickly. (this will obviously takes some testing).

Right now I am testing [league redacted]. I probably won't have any results for anyone until Sunday night at the earliest though (heading to St. Louis for Cub/Cardinals weekend series).

I welcome any questions/comments.

Will this include one of the roster sets people here are working on, or will it be your own?

I was planning on it being fictional players. However, it may be possible to include other peoples rosters sets also...I won't be doing any rosters myself though.

I will where I can find them...I'll definitely be changing the MLB (and minors) to their correct park factors. Foreign league park factors may have to be generic unless anybody knows of a decent way of figuring those out.

Does anybody know where I can find some league totals for the 2005 Nippon season? I have found numbers from 2003 and earlier, but not the last couple years.

Don't forget to change the name of the Pitching Award to the Sawamura Award.

Thank you for the great idea and the hard work going into it.

From my understanding there's no way to save a quickstart before the league is created so the settings and details will be the same but you can apply them to different roster sets. Is this correct? This type of detail might get me interested in playing a fictional universe even though it's not what I'm used to, but I would love to be able to use these kind of details (particularly in the minor and foreign leagues) with historical players.

That is correct. What I will probably do is post all of the "details" here in the forum so that anyone can mix and match what they want and also post a file with all of them together. I'm getting pretty close to being happy with the Japanese League...might have something to post tonight.
