MLB Fictional Roster Set w/ correct stadium names, dimensions, park factors, etc

I wanted a league with more basic minor leagues so I created this Fictional MLB setup that has all MLB team names, AAA teams, AA teams and High Single-A teams in correct leagues/divisions/affiliates. Also, all MLB stadiums have correct dimensions and park factors. All minor league parks have correct stadium names and cities (when the correct one was available). I also set up the file names for the ballparks to use Mister Bogart's stadium pics. All players are fictional.

Eventually I might add minor league park factors if there is enough interest.

Download here (scroll down to the blue bolded text in the middle of the screen that says "Download for free with FileFactory Basic" to access the file:

Updated for 1.0.3: http://www.filefactory.com/file/88b6aa/ (.rar file) or http://www.ootpmodsquad.com/mods/ros...onalMLB1.3.zip (.zip file)

For 1.0.2 (if you haven't patched - don't know why you wouldn't):http://www.filefactory.com/file/5c5b02/

- Thanks to halos17 for the ballpark factors and fence data
- Thanks to Seviien for the financial settings and player aging settings (1.0.3 files use adjusted modifiers for 1.0.3)
- Thanks to jdew for the hex codes for team background and text colors

Download these useful tools to make this set better:

Thanks, I just added all minor league park names and corrected the cities for each team when possible. Updated version of the file is linked in the original post.

If anyone finds any problems please let me know. Thx.

Please note, if you download this file the settings are still based on adjustments for 1.0.2. You may want to change the player aging setting back to the default w/ 1.0.3 until more research is done in this area.

For some reason the team I manage (Palm Beach Cardinals) the logo does not show up. I noticed that it's name in the image folder was Palm Beach_Cardinals.png - so I changed the name within the game to reflect that name instead of Palm Beach County Cardinals. Well, I still can't get that logo to show up for some reason.

bp_ is that logo showing up in your league?

Thanks!

EDIT: I figured it out.

made a few corrections to a few logos that weren't created correctly when I made this (not sure what happened). Here are the most current links (also updated in first post):

Updated for 1.0.3: http://www.filefactory.com/file/88b6aa/ (.rar file) or http://www.filefactory.com/file/590ff8/ (.zip file)

If you already downloaded a previous version of this and want to overwrite some of the game generated generic logos just download truthserum's logos (see link in first post of this thread) and then copy the league images that you need into your fictional mlb.lg/news/html/images folder. Also, to get the MLB logo you need to change the file name to Fictional MLB.png to get it to show up.

I assume changing the league name from Fictional MLB to Major League Baseball will also allow that logo to show up?

yes, that should work as well but you'd have to add the MLB logo from truthserum's logos into your fictional mlb.lg/news/html/images folder.

The new files I posted today have the MLB logo there now so nothing should need to be done for those downloads.

I copied all the logos from his logo pack into that directory. We'll see what happens after this sim.

I wanted to get 10 years of history before taking over a team.

Great job on the QS bp_!

Slight Problem

Thanks for doing this.

However when I try to load the league OOTP crashes. I tried re-extracting and checked a few other things, nothing worked. My other leagues come up ok.

Not sure why as I've tested this by unzipping my file and running a league with it. Maybe try downloading the file from here:

Many thanks. I'm going to dive into this right away.

Thanks so much for this mod! I think it is very useful. *2 thumbs up*

One word of caution for folks about to use this - the aging modifiers that are used (which are the Seviien aging modifiers) don't seem to create realistic MLB-like results.

For example, 7 years into my sim, there were only 9 players aged 39 or older who saw major league playing time that season (2012).

By contrast, in 2005 in the MLB, there were 40 players aged 39+ who saw playing time. They were:
Julio Franco 1958 47
John Franco 1960 45
Jamie Moyer 1962 43
Roger Clemens 1962 43
Pat Borders 1963 42
Jeff Fassero 1963 42
Terry Mulholland 1963 42
David Wells 1963 42
Randy Johnson 1963 42
Roberto Hernandez 1964 41
Kenny Rogers 1964 41
Lenny Harris 1964 41
Barry Bonds 1964 41
Rafael Palmeiro 1964 41
B.J. Surhoff 1964 41
Ruben Sierra 1965 40
Buddy Groom 1965 40
Al Leiter 1965 40
Steve Finley 1965 40
Kevin Brown 1965 40
Orlando Hernandez 1965 40
Steve Reed 1965 40
Craig Biggio 1965 40
Benito Santiago 1965 40
Larry Walker 1966 39
Tom Glavine 1966 39
Chris Hammond 1966 39
Greg Maddux 1966 39
Mike Timlin 1966 39
Jeff Conine 1966 39
Woody Williams 1966 39
Curt Schilling 1966 39
Jeff Nelson 1966 39
Sandy Alomar 1966 39
Tim Wakefield 1966 39
Mike Remlinger 1966 39
Moises Alou 1966 39
Gerald Williams 1966 39
Greg Myers 1966 39
Jose Mesa 1966 39

In 2012, there were only 5 players aged 40+ and no one over 41. In contrast in the MLB in 2005 (as shown above), there were 24 and 9, respecitvely. So in summary:

Code:
Age MLB(2005) OOTPMLB(2012)
39+ 40 9
40+ 24 5
42+ 9 0

So if having realistic aging distributions is important to you, you may want to try to tweak the aging modifiers. I haven't done enough testing to see what would work best.
