What do the AI team GMs "see"?
When playing in a game with scouting system enabled, what do the AI General Managers and Managers "see" regarding player ratings? Do they see what we do- the reports of their head scout and other assistant souts? Do they only see the head scout report? Do they just see the actual ratings? Anyone know for sure? (I tried looking in the game manual, but didn't see this listed...)

I'm pretty sure the AI GM's and owners see the unfiltered data, kind of like the "Matrix". The owners, anyway, probably see the raw info, and base their seasonal expectations on that.
Of course this is merely anecdotal. I put together a winning team that won the pennant, but not the WS. I avoided any big free-agent losses, and even signed some big talent. Next season, I figured the owner would want me to go for the WS again, but instead, he wanted me to stay off the bottom of the division. Go figure, I thought, this ought to be as easy as pie. In the first third of the season, most of my star players were on the 60-day DL, and by the All-Star Break, my team had not only penetrated the divisional basement, but was right at the bottom of the entire league. Needless to say, I got fired for that. I could not foresee all of those injuries, but I believe the AI sure did. This is just my own opinion, here, and the reality of the game may be otherwise, but if it is, I'll need some powerful convincing to think so. |
