Is this bug fixed?

Once players retire, will they stop aging? In other words, when I look at the retired players will they show up as 60 and 70 year olds on the report?

Was this fixed?

I am pretty sure they continue to age. I'd go look to confirm, but I'm doing an AI 'catch and release' test right now.

Players do indeed continue to age after retiring in the CURRENT patch (1.02)....

For clarity's sake, I think this happens in 1.0.3, too.

Is there a way to display a list of who retires at the end of each season?

Do players die after they retire? Might be interesting if they did; you could have a moment of silence at the next game or something.

No. I have asked for this, and text tokens to write obits for HoF players who pass on.

According to OOTP itself, OOTP MLB play (modern and historical) outnumbers OOTP fictional play three to one.

Five thousand thanks for a non-modder? I never thought I'd see the day. Thank you for your support.

Why is it a bug? I always thought it was stupid for the game to list a guy as being whatever age he was when he retired when he was born 80 years ago, it's not a bug, just proof the game can add properly. Players age, they die just like you and me. What's the big deal?

In 2007 I should add that players die, with an article when a HOFer passes away...

Now that is a cool feature. I also like that they keep aging after retirement.

I like that, too. It'd be a nice addition to be able to compare that current age with a performance history by age as suggested here:

The most recent batch of retired players are listed in the league transaction logs during the off-season. Active players tend to retire right after the season, players sitting in FA on January 1st. The Major transactions log shows retirements among major league teams only, the Complete log also shows retirements in the affiliated minors as well as retirements from the FA list.

I don't think you can find these archived for previous years though...the League History section only seems to keep the season transaction logs, not the off-season logs.

Great plan.

So say my name is... oh I don't know.... David Wells, and I happen to be playing OOTP2007. One day my likeness retires at the end of 2007 and I think "oh cool". Now I'm a persistent fella as you all know so I continue simming seasons for another 20 or so, when I get the message that I died in 2028. I (David Wells) am not impressed with this.

I (Tetchyy) could see this being a BIG bone of contention with some "real" folks and/or their "real" families in the future. I can't think of very many games of any type where they go into this kind of detail with "real life personas".

Some subjects are and should remain taboo, no?

You'll finally discover that OOTP has a really, really awesome God Mode.
