Who is most likely?

Tony Gwynn edged Nap Lajoie out of the Top 20 Career BA list. Who is most likely to knock HIM out?

None of them, do you people realize that most of the guys on that list would have to hit .350 in their post-prime years and then not tail off to catch Gwynn?

Pujols is the only one with a prayer, jesus mary and joseph folks!!!!

I see Riggs Stephensen making a comeback on jumping up a few spots. Pure speculation on my part.

The thread title asks who is most likely to, and the poll question asks who will. My vote differs from one to another.

I really want to say Vlad, but I think Ichiro is more logical.

And considering that BA is a young man's skill, these folks' averages to date would have to be much higher than they are now in order to have a chance.

It's really early, but Joe Mauer is the type of hitter that could do it.

He could. He will need to switch positions in the next 5 or 6 years though.

It will happen, but it won't be anyone from the present generation of major leaguers.

By the way, this poll is asking two different questions. The thread title is "Who is most likely?" and the poll question is "Who will?"

If I were voting on who was most likely, my vote would remain Ichiro as it was earlier in the thread. If I was voting for who will, I'd probably go with the option of no one.

And, FWIW, if the question really were "Who is most likely?", there would be no option for "no one" because the question isn't asking for a definitive -- it's like asking who of the hitters on the poll will end with the best career BA.
