Selig's Chat

No Media one this year as I could see on MLB.com.

At Least Inter League Play is here to stay.
A's will move to San Jose at sometime.
Really didn't answer what cities Rays could move if don't get a new Stadium in the St. Petersburg area. I would say Orlando is on the list.

Gibson swings, and a fly ball to deep right field! This is gonna be a home run! Unbelievable! A home run for Gibson! And the Dodgers have won the game, 5 to 4; I don't believe what I just saw! I don't believe what I just saw!

Only if the players' union continues to approve it. They have the right to withdraw their support. (Though it would seem unlikely they'd veto it now after this many years.)

Assuming some accommodation can be made. The Giants claim the San Jose area is part of their territory. The A's, naturally, claim otherwise.

The A's don't claim otherwise.

Quote:
In the 1980s, San Jose was a territory shared by the A's and Giants. The A's gave it exclusively to the Giants for free when the Giants were exploring building a new ballpark in the South Bay. Though their plans never came to fruition, the South Bay remained part of the Giants' territory. Now that the A's are interested in a San Jose location, it seems Neukom is demanding Commissioner Bud Selig do his bidding or be sued.
As I understand it, the A's have agreed that following the opening of a San Jose ballpark, the Giants would have the right to ask Major League Baseball to arbitrate any damages to their fan base or revenue that were caused by the new stadium. Neukom has apparently rejected this fair and simple approach, most likely because projections conducted in a fair manner just might show that the San Jose ballpark would have a positive impact on the orange and black.

Neukom's hardball tactics bad for Bay Area

The Rays will go some where in Florida if they move.
San Jose is not in San Fran.
Selig likes Inter League play.

He will meeting with Media and like Peter Gammons today but haven't seen anything on it yet on MLB.com

It's a good thing they have two different names, then. Otherwise it would be rather confusing for locals.

If not San Jose, where? Sacramento? Portland?

Las Vegas?
