TT #1475 Contract Negotiation Accepting/Rejecting
Originally posted in this thread. I thought I'd make a new thread with the bug number in it.

I loaded the Lahman database from 1962. I simmed the first season and up to Winter Leagues or so (I believe) and gave him the contract. I believe it was Zoilo Versalles (although I doubt that matters). |

I'm going to attempt to recreate this.
1) I'm using this quickstart. 2) I created a manager. 3) I found a job as GM of the Charleston RiverDogs 4) Simulated until "Playoffs Begin" 5) Stopped auto-play when I noticed my manager named got screwed up. Instead of "Tim" it changed to o (with a ^ over it) and a capital X. Last named remained unchanged. 6) Continued simming as I wasn't testing that... 7) Realized I can't offer extensions in the minor leagues. 8) Resigned as manager to make it go by quicker. 9) Simmed a year hoping to get a major league offer. 10) Attempted to go to look at the Major League standings page...Error. Game quit... Huh . I'll have to reattempt to recreate it because of this .

![]() ![]() ![]() Are those the sort of things you're talking about? I brought that up over at FOFC, but since I'm not precisely sure what's involved with whether or not he'll listen, I didn't post it in the bug forum here. |

OK...attempting to recreate again.
Process: 1) Add Fictional League 2) League Nation: Belgium 3) 1 league, 1 division, 6 teams 4) Named it "Belgium Baseball League" 5) Left everything else default. 6) Started league without Draft 7) Added Manager: "Morse Moose" (default everything else) aka Non-Commish 8) Got the job from "Lokeren Velociraptors" 9) Noticed that Fabrice Chapelle (Aged 27) was in an arbitration year. 10) Left clicked to offer extension 11) Got to contract screen setup: Screenshot #1 12) Added year to "three": Screenshot #2 13) Clicked "+$1m" which actually is only $900,000 (but you get the jist) to the first year of his contract: Screenshot #3 14) Clicked "+$1m" for the second year of his contract: Screenshot #4 15) Clicked "+$1m" for the third year of his contract: Screenshot #5 16) Still the same issue... So basically it is saying he would "think about" a contract of 3 years at $350,000 but he wouldn't "think about" a contract where he is making $350,000 in two years and $1,350,000 in one of the years. Oh...and the "+$1m" seems to have been fixed...hmmm. I tested it further and he would think about two years of $350,000 and $450,000 but wouldn't think about two years of $350,000 and $550,000. |

So I played around with a contract and it looks like the easy way out was taken. Instead of it "Your proposed deal...The player would not..." it was changed to "owner."
Pretty disappointed with this as the issue, in my opinion, hasn't been solved. It was an easy change to "owner" instead of player. I offer: 2011 Season: $4,350,000 2012 Season: $4,350,000 2013 Season: $2,350,000 It says that the owner doesn't like how it is structured. That is ridiculous! If a player is worth $4,350,000 for two years (the player is 32), he sure is worth $2,350,000 the third year. If anybody doesn't like how it is structured, it should be the player. Hell, I even through on a team option and the owner STILL doesn't like it. What was fixed...was NOT fixed. So I change it a little... 2011 Season: $4,350,000 2012 Season: $4,350,000 2013 Season: $10,350,000 Of course the owner wouldn't like this deal, but again I leave the last contract year as a team option. Why would the owner not like this deal? You get him for two years guaranteed $4,350,000 and you just decline the third year. If it was a player option? I could understand the owner saying no. It sure seems to me that this wasn't really fixed, just a word changed to make it look like it was fixed. I hope this issue gets a serious look for Patch #2 and isn't just "fixed" with a word change that doesn't really fix anything. |

Furthermore...
The player is asking for "4,560,000 per year" for "2 years" I offer: Season 1: $2,000,000 Season 2: $1,000,000 What does the player say? Nothing. What does the owner say? This deal isn't structured properly. Pathetic. |

I had beating a dead horse and I am usually pretty positive when it comes to the game and things being fixed or on the schedule to be fixed, but I would have respect so much more had you just said "The issue couldn't be solved for patch #1, stay tuned for patch #2." Rather than pretending the issue was fixed.

Also, right now the focus for Markus is addressing the bigger issues (not saying this is not a big issue just not one of the ones were looking at)
I'll have more news for you on this nearer release |
