Bug-Copy Reports to Folder

After generating reports for online leagues, I attempted to copy the reports to folder g:\tpgootp. It runs as if it is copying 13,000+ reports. When I go to that folder upon completion, it is empty. I considered uploading the entre HTML folder, but that's upwards of 400MB. I have tried numerous times with different settings to no avail. This is key for online leagues, I think. Thanks.

It is entirely possible that I'm doing something wrong.

One thing that would be nice to have would be to click in the field and have a window pop up to navigate to the folder where I would like to copy the reports to, a la OOTP 6.5.

I'm having the same problem as well, it appears. As BCB and i discussed in my other thread about Uploading Reports.

Now the button isn't working at all. This is really important for online leagues.

BCB,
No reason to copy those files.

Just go into your .lg folder where the game is creating them to begin with and zip that folder. Then upload the zip file and unzip it online.

Of course, I see no reason for the game to make us place the HTMLs inside the .lg folder. It makes creating the league zip file time consuming. It has to go through all those files just so you can delete them once its finished.

With them outside the .lg folder, WinZip never has to run though them during zipation.

Yea, it can be done that way. Try to save myself the hassle of doing that I guess. Another problem is the sheer number of HTML files created. For just the MLB-equivalent league with only 4 report selections made it creates nearly 9000 files. That's 3x as many as OOTP6 for all levels. My first zip file was 45MB and my online unzip utility kept timing out.

I logged this as TT # 1775.

Meanwhile, do a search for "Montoya" in the Game Guide. F.Montoya created an awesome process that allows for really rapid uploading an unzipping of league files. Give it a try.

Thanks, I'll do that. currently I zip and upload the HTML then runa php process to unzip it, but mine times out with a huge file. Maybe his process will work differently.

Yeah that wouldn't be a bad process if Power Archiver was free. Honestly if this is the process people must make then the game itself should do this process automatically (atleast the archive creation and php file creation).

Cooley, the more I play with this, the more this feature is important. I simmed 1 month and created a very minimal level of reports (MLB-level only, and only the first 3 options and the 5th I think). the first time created about 9000 files and 21MB zipped. I simmed the next month and followed th same process. Now the zip file was ~30MB. Being able to copy the newly created files into a separate folder will keep from adding to the size. I tried deleting files prior to creation and got an error when I tried to create again..

Fixed in the next build. OOTP didn't change the drive from c:\ (or where your ootp is) to g:\

Workaround until you get the next build: Use a folder that is on the same drive as your OOTP.
