Alphabet City: A Completely Ridiculous Waste Of A Dynasty

Ok, so I want to run another dynasty, but I want it to be fun and much less work-intensive than my PLAGUE!! dynasty, so I figured I would come up with the most asinine idea for a historical replay.

Starting with a fantasy draft in 1901, I will do the following:

The initial draft orderwill be in alphabetical order by city, ties will be broken by team nickname.
All players will be assigned alphabetically by first name, beginning with catchers, then running through each position so they are evenly distributed
The Baltimore Orioles will be renamed the New York Yankees
The Boston American will be named the Red Sox
The Boston Beaneaters will become the Atlanta Braves
The Cleveland Blues will become the Indians
The Chicago Orphans will become the Cubs
The Milwaukee Brewers will become the St. Louis Browns
There will be no trades
There will be no free agency
Injuries will be set on average
I will use whatever historical setting the game provides
Teams will never move
There will never be expansion
Subsequent drafts will be serpentine, in order of finish, but I will continue to distribute the players alphabetically, though not by position as was done in the initial draft
Ankit's database will be used
I doubt I will have many bells and whistles. This will probably be a stat dump, so this league may not be to everyone's liking, but I'm hoping to get some truly bizarre results

Let the fun begin!!

I'm doing this in OOTP2006, and it took me quite a while to get it right, especially with the league totals (1901 is always screwed up for HR and K's). I got the draft wrong a couple times as well, and I was about to shelve this idea until I figured out that I should just make a Quick Start league.

I thought about doing something like this but never got around to it. I was going to do the A's vs. the B's vs. the C's etc.

I'll be watching this one for sure.

Just to let everyone know, I will updating this a bit less often than Plague! which remains my first priority. I've had a few bumps in the road with trying to do this via the new game as well....no need to go into detail, so this probably won't have a post until tomorrow
