Increasing Endurance in a Pitcher?...

Just need a bit of help...I am a long-time OOTP fan/player, but am still getting used to 2006. If anyone could offer some help here I'd really appreciate it.

My Providence Predators (replacing the Tampa Day Devil Rays in a quasi-fictional league) drafted Travis Gonzalez as a SUPER-STAR closer...but he has a decent amount of stamina and is only 19. I am hoping to try to increase his endurance and raise him to be a starter. CAn anyone tell me how to do that? I know in Spring trainging in previous OOTPs you could train him in endurance and switch him over, is that how it works now? Can anyone tell me the exact process to do this task? Thanks all. (I alreayd know how to set his position)

I will not comment on the matter further. Sorry, I am uncomfortable with discussion on this issue.

I don't really want to go that route. I'd rather do it (or fail to do it) within the confines of the game.

It looks like that is not possible as the game is configured now.

What's wrong with this issue that you can't even discuss it?

Its gotta be possible.. maybe its as simple as making him a starter and forcing him to get stronger and more stamina..who knows.

There were many discussions about how it should work, and this makes sense from a baseball approach, but OOTP historically hasn't worked quite that smoothly (you have to teach it in ST in past versions).

But, the fact that its "NDA" or something means they're probably discussing either how imminently close they are to having this approach implemented or how F'ed they are that there's no way to train a reliever to increase endurance because the old ST is gone.

My apologies..but what does NDA mean?

In my opinion, this is an important issue. As a Red Sox fan in real life I know that kids that were closers or relievers in College can sometimes earn the stamina and convert to starters (Papelbon, LEster). Something must be done in the next patch or something. Maybe it could be like I said, force a young arm into the starting role and, if he's is coded to handle it, watch his stamina increase. The increase doesnt always need to be great and could be tied to his work ethic among other 'intangibles'...also some pitchers could simply not be able to.
Just an idea.

Means "non disclosure agreement", something he's under contract not to tell us or he'll be in trouble.

This thread is 100+ posts long discussing how this should be implemented, exactly on this topic. Feel free to browse and add anything not mentioned already there.
