Steal vs Run and Hit

What is the difference? Will the batter not swing if just the steal is selected?

I don't know if it is the same in this game. But the term "run and hit" is when the runner will steal and the hitter has the option to swing or take the pitch. I believe it was an old Earl Weaver term?

Correct.

On a Steal. The batter will not swing, and will therefore not foul the ball off, nor hit into a double play.

In the Run and Hit, the batter has the option to swing - which means you still risk the double play ball, and possible fouling off. Of course he could also take a ball or strike.

In the Hit and Run, the batter must swing. Thus risking the double play or foul. but not taking a pitch.

It is in the game.
