Can't figure this out

Installed Lahman ok.

What I'm trying to do is create a simple 6 team league with teams from different years, historical. I can't do this with the standard because it's locked into two sub leagues, I just want one. I can't do this with a fictional league since there doesn't seem to be a way to import historical teams. Can't find any place that allows for teams from different historical years. I asked this on the newbie board when I first came here and was told it would be possible to do this. Anyone know how?

Ive been searching for an import/export team info but havent found any answer.
